Ankle sprain is absolutely one of the most common injuries in sport and exercising. It is also one of the injuries where it is possible to dramatically reduce the time the sportsperson/exerciser is away from his/her activity, by correctly applying acute treatment, rehabilitation and taping. All too many of those suffer an ankle sprain end up with a foot which is unstable and often suffer repetitions of the same injury because of insufficient rehabilitation. By carrying out the rehabilitation exercises included in this iPhone application and by applying the taping methods described there is every possibility of avoiding several ankle sprains and regaining the function of a foot that can be relied on.

The booklet describes, with illustrations and instructive text, the handling of an ankle sprain from acute care to rehabilitation exercises, taping and return to sport.

The booklet has been developed by Bodynfo in collaboration with two of Sweden’s leading experts in handling acute sports injuries and their successful rehabilitation, Annica Näsmark, a physiotherapist, and Tommy Eriksson, a chiropractor.

The booklet has been designed, on the basis of the combined knowledge and experience of the authors, to give practical support in acute care, rehabilitation exercising and taping after an ankle sprain. There is also advice in the material about when it is appropriate to return to exercise/sport after an ankle sprain.
